The ‘buzz’ of investing in real estate always has some key ‘hot topics’ associated with the conversation:  ‘long term wealth’, ‘great cashflow’, ‘financial freedom’, and ‘cash in on the foreclosures of the mortgage meltdown’ just to name a few.

Then there is the reality about it all - - (1) Absolutely you can gain and secure long term wealth, (2) depending on how you evaluate the deals before you do them – you will get great cashflow, and (3) financial freedom is the ultimate goal, however, if you do not treat, and respect, the real estate investing business, AS A BUSINESS, what you will have is a job-like experience with that ultimate goal not getting any closer to you.

    Have had a major stroke January 13 , 2002 , leaving me a ”cripple” with loss of my right writing arm ; right leg , speect [ recovered 80-85 % of speech ] ; resulting loss of driving license ; age 76 ; can type with left hand - finger only ; but with experience in real estate since 1949 ; still licensed as real estate broker since 1960 ; licensed as lawyer since 1963 ; notary public since 1958 ; plus other licenses that I have since given up because of the stroke ; experienced with buying , building , trading , swapping , buying what is now called pre-
    foreclosures , auctions , re-habbing , etc . …………………..
    eager for your suggestions– ”have always believed not to get involved with real estate that requires a greater travel time over 1 hour .”
